Introduction
Thrace Studio ("we," "our," or "us") develops Tidyfox: Phone Storage Cleaner ("Tidyfox" or "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information Tidyfox uses, where it is processed, and what is shared with third parties when you use the App.
In short: Tidyfox works entirely on your iPhone. Your photos, videos and contacts never leave your device and are never uploaded to us or anyone else.
This Privacy Policy is effective as of October 15, 2026.
Information We Collect
Information That Stays on Your Device
Tidyfox needs access to some of your content to find clutter. All of this processing happens on your device:
- Photos and Videos: Tidyfox scans your photo library to find similar photos, exact duplicates, screenshots, blurry photos and large videos.
- Text in Screenshots: Tidyfox reads text in your screenshots with on-device text recognition (OCR) to sort them into categories such as receipts, documents and chats.
- Contacts: Tidyfox accesses your contacts only if you open the Duplicate Contacts feature, to find and merge duplicates.
Your photos, videos, contacts and the text read from your screenshots are never uploaded, never sent to our servers and never shared with any third party.
Information We Do NOT Collect
- Account Information: Tidyfox has no accounts and no login. We never ask for your name, email address or phone number.
- Advertising Data: Tidyfox contains no ads and does not use your device's advertising identifier.
- Tracking: Tidyfox does not track you across other apps or websites, so it never shows Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt.
- Analytics: Tidyfox does not use any third-party analytics service. App events are written only to your device's log and are never sent to us or anyone else.
Information Shared for Purchases
If you buy a Tidyfox Pro subscription, a limited amount of purchase information is shared with RevenueCat. See Third-Party Services below.
Permissions
Tidyfox asks for the following permissions:
- Photos: Find similar photos, duplicates, screenshots, blurry photos and large videos, and delete the items you choose.
- Contacts: Requested only when you open Duplicate Contacts, to find and merge duplicate contacts.
- Notifications: Optional weekly cleanup reminder, scheduled locally on your device.
You can change any of these permissions at any time in your device's Settings app.
How We Use Your Information
Everything Tidyfox processes is used only to provide the App's features on your device:
- Find Clutter: Group similar photos, find duplicates, sort screenshots and flag blurry photos and large videos.
- Clean Up: Delete, compress or convert the items you choose, and merge the contacts you choose.
- Subscriptions: Check whether you have an active Tidyfox Pro subscription.
- Reminders: Show the optional weekly cleanup reminder if you turn it on.
Data Storage and Security
- Analysis Cache: To avoid re-scanning your whole library every time, Tidyfox stores analysis results in the App's private storage on your device. This cache contains image hashes, sharpness scores, compact image fingerprints, file sizes and screenshot categories. It does not contain any image data.
- Private to the App: The cache is kept in Tidyfox's private container on your device and is not accessible to other apps.
- Deleted with the App: All cached analysis results are removed when you uninstall Tidyfox.
- No Servers: We do not operate any server that receives your photos, videos, contacts or screenshot text.
Deleting Photos, Videos and Contacts
- Tidyfox never deletes anything without your action. When you delete photos or videos, iOS shows its own confirmation dialog first.
- Deleted photos and videos are moved to the Recently Deleted album in the Photos app, where iOS keeps them for 30 days before removing them permanently.
- Contact merges happen on your device, in your own Contacts.
Third-Party Services
Purchases in Tidyfox are processed by Apple through the App Store. Tidyfox uses RevenueCat to validate subscriptions:

- Data Received: An anonymous app user ID and your purchase and subscription status

RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and your purchase and subscription status so it can validate your subscription. It does not receive your photos, videos, contacts or screenshot text.
Notifications and Widget
- Weekly Reminder: The optional weekly cleanup reminder is a local notification scheduled on your device. No push notification service is used.
- Home Screen Widget: The Tidyfox widget reads only your device's free and used storage. It does not access your photos, videos or contacts.
Data Retention
- Your Content: Your photos, videos and contacts stay in your Photos and Contacts apps. Tidyfox never copies them anywhere else.
- Analysis Cache: Kept on your device until you uninstall Tidyfox.
- Purchase Data: Purchase and subscription status is retained by Apple and RevenueCat as described in their privacy policies.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Control Access: Grant or revoke Photos, Contacts and Notifications access at any time in your device's Settings app.
- Delete: Remove all data Tidyfox stores on your device by uninstalling the App.
- Opt-out: Turn off the weekly reminder in the App or in your device's Settings app.

Children's Privacy
Tidyfox is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [email protected].
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident:
- Tidyfox does not collect your photos, videos, contacts or screenshot text; they stay on your device
- We do not sell or share your personal information

GDPR Compliance (EU Users)
If you are in the European Economic Area:
- Your photos, videos, contacts and screenshot text are processed only on your device and are never transferred to us
- The only data shared with a third party is the anonymous app user ID and purchase status sent to RevenueCat to validate your subscription

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you believe your rights have been violated.
